Skype needs no introduction today. Skype is a leading VoIP player; basically it is a software application which allows its users to make calls using internet. Calls to another user on Skype are always free; if you would like to call mobile or landline then you need to pay a small fee. Skype also provides us an array of additional and useful features like video conferencing, file transfer and instant messaging. The software code of Skype was written by developers Ahti Heinla, Priit Kasesalu and Jaan Tallinn; based in Estonia. A Swedish born entrepreneur Niklas Zennstrm was the founder of the Skype Group in 2003. Skype group; has its headquarter in Luxembourg; and offices in San Jose, London, Tallinn, Stockholm, Prague, and Tartu. We have seen a rapid growth in the popularity of Skype since it was launched. Skype also allows their users to receive calls on their PC itself; a local Skype number is allotted to their PC's. Skype for Windows Mobile OS: Despite computers; Skype has also launched software's for Smartphones. Its edition for Windows Mobile OS called Skype 2.5. Skype 2.5 allow users to make free Skype-to-Skype calls, free instant messaging and calls to mobile and landlines
