Antivirus for smartphones Print E-mail
An antivirus is software which is capable of detecting and removing computer virus as well as other harmful computer software collectively known as malware. The computer virus was limited only to the PC world until the launch of mobile devices which has capabilities to be connected to a computer or the web. After that, the virus migrated to the mobile world. Now antivirus software developers are beginning to offer solution to combat virus in the mobile handset. Antivirus software's are difficult to be run and managed in a mobile handset. The primary reason for such a crisis is that there are many constraints with regard to the processor, memory and signature updates when it comes to a mobile. The software developed for a computer cannot be effectively incorporated and used in a mobile because of these constraints. Mobile handsets are now offered with a variety of interfaces and data connection capabilities. Even Smartphone could not outsmart the computer viruses that enter them. Many Smartphones have capabilities to be connected to the PC and the web which have paved the way for viruses to immigrate into the mobile world. One of the best antivirus software designed to combat this is the Kaspersky antivirus software designed by the Kaspersky lab especially for Smartphones. The Kaspersky package needs to be installed in the Smartphone and activated with the activation code to start the process of detection. The standard method to install the software in the Smartphone is by transferring the distribution package of the program from the PC to the Smartphone via Bluetooth or infrared connection. Then launch the installation of Kaspersky mobile security from the inbox folder and follow the instructions that appear on the screen. For Smartphones based on Symbian OS, one needs to have Nokia PC suite installed in the computer to access the software for antivirus. Using Nokia PC suite, the software can be installed via the Nokia Application Installer menu on the program. For Smartphones based on Windows mobile, the software can be accessed via the Microsoft Active Sync and can be copied and transferred to the Smartphone device. The antivirus software can also be installed in the Smartphone by copying it in a memory card and then running it on the Smartphone. After installation, one needs to activate the antivirus software in the mobile. This can be done by installing a license key which will verify the license and determine its expiry date. To activate the program the Smartphone should be connected to the internet. When you run the program for the first time, the activation window will open and you need to enter the activation code. After successful installation the program will detect and heal the viruses present in your Smartphone.
